Ultima Pietra In-Villa Wine Tasting

Established in 2017, Ultima Pietra is the passion project of Mark and Margot Bowen. Made up of 3.3 hectares of biodynamic vineyards and 1.5 hectares of award-winning olive groves, the estate sits on the edges of Trequanda on the border between the Val d’Orcia and the Crete Senesi. In this special wine-tasting experience, the innovative viticulture of this under-the-radar slice of Tuscany is brought to your luxury villa in Tuscany. 

Just one of a series of ‘Winery’ in-villa tastings led by Gio Stella, the Tuscan winemaker spotlights exceptional wines from the local estates he works with. His goal as a winemaker is to make the best wine in the kindest way for the environment, something Ultima Pietra champions through handcrafted, organic and biodynamic viticulture. 

Savour organic, artisanal wines from your private villa in Tuscany

In the words of Gio Stella, “Ultima Pietra is one of the few wine pioneers in a land of traditional wines”. This private in-villa wine tasting will be led by Gio, who has hand-selected four artisanal wines produced on the Ultima Pietra estate in Trequanda. The estate is a real gem; small and refined in a unique location. Production is also small so the wines are unusual and not always easy to find. They produce one of the few Tuscan Chardonnays and two red wines: a pure Merlot, and a blend of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. 

Gio will lead you on a tasting journey through the unique terroir that gives birth to each glass of wine. As an experienced winegrower, he offers a refreshing perspective on Tuscan wines, as someone who has cultivated the vines and knows the land firsthand. And the best part is, you get to experience a special family-run winery from the comfort and privacy of your Tuscan holiday rental. 

Each tasting can also be accompanied and appropriately paired with the famous Tuscan bruschetta, topped with local seasonal ingredients at an additional cost. Alessandro Pieragnoli runs a popular bruschetteria in San Gimignano and can tailor each accompanying dish to the wines you will taste.

The private wine tasting will last 1.5 hours and can be arranged at a time that suits you and your guests. Gio Stella will host the wine tasting at your private villa in Tuscany with the optional support of Alessandro Pieragnoli who can pair the tasting with a selection of Tuscan bruschetta.
