Passo Reo is a charming home, set on the Monte Argentario, once an island, now a promontory, attached by two causeways to mainland that emerges from the Tuscany coast line of rocky outcrops, small bays with deep blue waters. The property is set against the hillside enjoying wonderful views of the sea and coastline with the famous ‘Maddalena’ outcrop silhouetted against the skyline.
The main house has a large loggia furnished with a dining area and an outdoor seating area that enjoys a constant breeze. The large swimming pool sits a couple of terraces below, with a magnificent palm tree and lawns leading to one of the two guest houses. The second guest house sits amongst some stunning olive groves, enjoying unspoilt views of the sea. As the property is set against the hillside, there are a lot of steps so it’s not great for very small children or for those that are not enthusiastic in walking. The charming fishing village of Santo Stefano is 10 mins away with a wide selection of shops and restaurants with a beautiful white beach, La Giannella nearby.
On the eastern side of the promontory is Porto Ercole, another village with several fortified centres overlooked by a fifteenth century castle. On one of the two causeways linking what was once an island to mainland is Orbetello, a thriving town with shops and restaurants surrounded by water. The Feniglia Beach is the third causeway, pine trees, sand dunes and a secluded beach of 8 km, between Porto Ercole and Ansedonia. In land you have Pitigliano, Capalbio, Scansano, Manciano, Monte Merano, with Siena within easy reach. Further south you have the famous Etruscan cities and sites of Tuscania and Tarquina. Then of course you have the coast line and the islands of Giannutri, Giglio and Montecristo which can be explored by chartering a day boat.

Second large living room with a summer day bed and fireplace. Double bedroom leading out onto the front terrace with fantastic views, bathroom with bath and rose shower. Laundry-room. Small bedroom with bunk beds for children. Shower room.
