Taste your way through Italy with your weekly dose of Italian culture, #italycomestoyou. This week’s short, downloadable recipe card brings you to Florence, with three of our favourite local dishes. Simple, hearty and a staple in any Florentine home – these recipes make a tasty lunch, dinner and dessert.

This Saturday, May 2nd (5 pm Italy / 4 pm UK / 11 am EST), join us on Instagram Live to prepare a traditional Florentine dish, Crespelle alla Fiorentina. These savoury crepes are stuffed with ricotta and spinach filling, covered in bechamel sauce, and baked in the oven. To serve 4, you will need an oven and the following ingredients:
- 175g all purpose flour
- 625ml whole milk
- 2 eggs
- 300g cooked spinach
- 150g butter
- 200g Ricotta
- 400g tomato passata or tomato sauce
- 1 white onion
- 150g grated Parmigiano-Reggiano
- Ground nutmeg
- Salt and pepper
- Extra-virgin olive oil
