The Amalfi Coast is one of Italy’s most iconic destinations, beloved for its impossibly beautiful cliffside villages, azure waters and Dolce Vita glamour. There’s the perfect pastel homes of Positano, with its exclusive beach clubs, Ravello’s dizzying sea views and the famous hand-fired ceramic workshops of Vietri sul Mare.

All of our villas boast air-conditioned bedrooms and the luxury of private pools, which is rare for this region. Italy’s most famous coastline winds from the breathtaking Punta Campanella nature reserve to Salerno with the terraced towns of Positano, Amalfi and Ravello crowning the cliff tops along the way. Connecting each destination is the iconic Strada Statale 163, a precarious ribbon of road known as the ‘Amalfi Drive’, which dates back to the reign of King Ferdinand II. Around every hairpin bend, the glittering Tyrrhenian Sea appears endless, while pastel-hued villages emerge, each more beautiful than the last. The road is as thrilling as the landscape it traverses — quintessentially Italian in its charm and chaos.
The Amalfi Coast is a striking contrast of old-world glamour and tradition, where the stylish and the simple exist in harmony. Beyond the luxury yachts anchored off Positano, the designer shops and the elegant villas of Ravello, life unfolds much as it has for centuries. This is the sun-kissed land of lemon groves and ancient olive trees. Local fishermen are still the lifeblood of the region, bringing in the catch of the day for the local restaurant’s renowned seafood dishes.
Our luxury villa in Positano is the perfect base for exploring the bustling town centre, luxury boutiques and exclusive beach clubs. Wander up to the Chiesa di Santa Maria Assunta to admire its famous mosaiced dome, Byzantine art and Roman Villa buried beneath the church. Arguably some of the best beaches can be found here, including the Spiaggia di Positano and Fornillo Beach.
In Amalfi, don’t miss the striking Norman-Arab striped cathedral, Duomo di Sant’Andrea and its Moorish cloister. Learn about the ancient craft of paper-making, wander the medieval lanes and be sure to stop at Pasticceria Pansa for Amalfi lemon cake.
Ravello will seduce as it always does with its aristocratic charm. The 11th-century Duomo is worth a visit, but the draw for many visitors are the dizzyingly beautiful Villa Rufolo and Villa Cimbrone, with its “Terrace of Infinity”.
For iconic Amalfi ceramics, Vietri-sul-Mare has been producing colourful majolica tiles since Roman times. Or, for a more tranquil experience, visit the fishing village of Cetara or the lesser-known town of Praiano, ideal for soaking up authentic Amalfi charm away from the crowds.
If you are planning an extended family vacation, the Amalfi Coast is also an ideal base for day trips to Sorrento and world-famous archeological sites of Herculaneum and Paestum.
The best way to experience the Amalfi Coast is from the water. Charter a private yacht or traditional gozzo boat and cruise along the coastline, stopping to explore hidden coves or the famous Emerald Grotto in Conca dei Marini. A day trip to the island of Capri is also highly recommended, where you can marvel at the Blue Grotto or shop in Capri Town’s chic boutiques.
Hiking enthusiasts will love the Sentiero degli Dei, or Path of the Gods, which runs between Bomerano and Nocelle, offering breathtaking vistas of the Amalfi coastline. The path runs along a ridge in the Lattari mountains, so be sure to pack your walking boots and expect sheer heights! The Sentiero dei Limoni is a shorter trail that winds through fragrant lemon groves and terraced vineyards.
For water sports, the clear waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea are perfect for kayaking, snorkelling, or paddleboarding.
The Amalfi Coast is a paradise for food lovers. Lemons are a hallmark of the region, used to create everything from tangy limoncello to decadent desserts like Delizia al Limone.
Seafood is naturally the showstopper here. Enjoy freshly caught anchovies in Cetara, which are used to make colatura di alici, a traditional anchovy sauce that dates back to Roman times. Savour octopus salads in Positano, and pasta dishes like Spaghetti alle Vongole, paired with local white wines from the hills of Ravello.
The surrounding Campania region is renowned for producing Mozzarella di Bufala. Have our concierge arrange a tour and tasting at a local dairy for Mozzarella like you’ve never tasted before. We can arrange for a private chef to prepare 3-course dinners at your villa or lead cooking classes where you’ll learn to craft authentic Amalfitana recipes. At our luxury villa in Positano you can even create authentic Pizza Napoletana in your very own pizza oven.
Wine lovers can enjoy tastings at family-run vineyards producing Falanghina, Greco di Tufo, and other regional varietals. Or for something a little stronger, savour local Limoncello made for Amalfi lemons.
Whether you’re interested in the designer boutiques of Capri or sourcing local artisan treasures, the Amalfi Coast is a haven for shopping. Positano is known for its chic beachwear and boutique stores, while Vietri sul Mare is best known for its artisan ceramics.
Amalfi is famous for its handmade paper, crafted using centuries-old techniques, while in Capri, you’ll find one-of-a-kind perfumes inspired by the island’s flora.

Spring (March-May): Spring is one of the best times to visit the Amalfi Coast if you’d prefer to avoid the crowds of high summer. Temperatures range between 15°C and 22°C (59°F-72°F), with mild weather ideal for exploring villages like Positano and Ravello or hiking trails such as the famous Path of the Gods.
Summer (June-August) is peak season, with highs often reaching 30°C (86°F).The beaches and sea activities are at their best, but the villages can be bustling. A private villa with a pool offers a perfect retreat from the crowds. Choosing to stay in a Positano villa with private parking also provides the perfect base for exploring on foot or by boat.
Autumn (September-November): The weather cools slightly, with highs between 17°C and 27°C (63°F-81°F). September is particularly lovely, with warm days ideal for exploring. By November, expect increased rainfall, but the grape harvest and seasonal specialties like fresh figs and chestnuts more than make up for it. The sea remains warm enough for swimming well into September, making this a fantastic season for a more relaxed coastal experience.
Winter (December-February): While cooler (highs around 13°C-17°C or 55°F-63°F), winter offers a peaceful atmosphere. It’s a magical time to visit less crowded villages, enjoy local cuisine, and experience events like Carnival in Maiori.
