Calligraphy Workshop in Florence with Betty Soldi

Let your inner creativity flourish in an expressive calligraphy workshop in Oltrarno, the famous artisan district of Florence. Situated in a 19th-century Orangery (“Limonaia”) next to the Boboli Gardens is the beautiful design studio of Betty Soldi. 

Betty is a famous Florentine ink artist who has worked with leading brands on bespoke commissions and creative collaborations. Through her unique approach to design and modern calligraphy, you will delve into the artistic heritage of Florence as you develop your creative self-expression. Within easy reach of our villas in Tuscany, learn to free up your creativity and let go, in this magical studio setting. 

Creative ink experience in the heart of Oltrarno in Florence 

Betty likes to think of her creative calligraphy workshops as an ‘unconventional artistic approach to self-discovery’. This ‘ink-sperience’ is less about your technical approach to calligraphy and more about expressive and introspective handwriting. For two hours, you will be taken on a sensorial journey in the stunning ‘limonaia’ housed inside a secret Florentine garden.

Betty will provide you with a pen and a beautiful A4 notepad of white and black pages for you to practice in and take away at the end of the workshop. She can tailor the session to a specific theme or passion, but often connects the Renaissance marvels of Florence to the ink works you will create.

Choose between a morning session from 10:30am – 12:00pm with light refreshments or an evening session from 5:00pm – 7:00pm with aperitivo. The workshop can be tailored to a specific theme or interest but usually centres on the Renaissance wonders of Florence to help inspire you.
