This historic atelier and gallery have been home to the same family of Florentine sculptors for over two centuries, blending tradition with contemporary craftsmanship. 

In this hands-on sculpture moulding workshop you will work side-by-side with a master sculptor to produce your very own work of art. Based in a stunning studio filled with a vast collection of classical, Renaissance, neoclassical and contemporary masterpieces, this workshop is perfect for guests staying in our luxury villas near Florence.

Recreate part of Michelangelo’s David at Studio Romanelli

During the sculpture moulding workshop, you will get to create your copy of a section of Michelangelo’s iconic David. The master sculptor will guide you through the process, demonstrating how best to use your eyes to get the right measurements and shapes. At the end of this immersive 3-hour experience, you will get to take your finished artwork home with you. Your very own souvenir of David, sculpted with your own hands.

Alongside the plaster casting session, you will uncover the history behind this antique art form, the story of the Romanelli studio and the exclusive collection of work they have produced. This fascinating atelier cast its bronzes according to the ‘lost-wax’ method and hand carves their marble sculptures out of the finest Carrara. The sculpture moulding workshop can also be personalised according to your specific requests with plenty of advance notice when booking. 
 

In this 3-hour workshop you will be taught how to cast a sculpture, which you can take away as a special souvenir at the end of the session. Guests can choose from a morning (10:00am-1:00pm) or afternoon (2:00pm-5:00pm) workshop but plenty of advanced booking is recommended.
