The earliest documentation of Chianti wine dates to the thirteenth century where merchants of Castellina, Gaiole and Radda formed a League to produce and promote the areas wine. Although Chianti is recognised for its world renowned Chianti Classico red, the earliest records, circa 1390, show that the earliest bottled Chianti was actually a white wine. Chianti wine tasting will allow you to study and learn the history and elements which make up Chianti Wine, looking particularly at Chianti Classico and the characteristics that make up and differentiate this local delicacy from other Chianti wines.
