Il Giardo is set on the edge of the sleepy village of Pescina, near the small hilltop hamlet of Lucolena in Chianti (3km/2mil), surrounded by rolling countryside, olive groves, and vineyards in the heart of Tuscany’s Chianti region. For day-to-day essentials, the nearby villages of Lucolena and Dudda (5km/3mil) offer small local shops and cafés, while Dudda also has a restaurant and pizzeria. Greve in Chianti (14km/9mil), one of the region’s best-known Chianti towns, provides a wider selection of restaurants, wine bars, artisan shops, supermarkets, and a popular weekly market held every Saturday morning around its historic triangular piazza. Nearby Panzano in Chianti (22km/14mil) is known for its restaurants, wine estates, and the famous butcher Dario Cecchini, while the medieval villages of Radda in Chianti (17km/11mil) and Castellina in Chianti (30km/18mil) offer classic Chianti landscapes, wine cellars, and historic piazzas. The picturesque hamlet of Montefioralle (17km/11mil), just above Greve in Chianti, makes a quieter excursion for walks and aperitivi overlooking the vineyards. For more extensive shopping and services, Figline Valdarno (14km/9mil) offers large supermarkets, cafés, restaurants, pharmacies, and a weekly market held on Tuesdays. The villa is ideally positioned for exploring Tuscany’s many hilltop towns and villages. Florence (37km/23mil), Siena (50km/31mil), and San Gimignano (70km/43mil) can all be reached in just over an hour and make rewarding day trips for art, history, shopping, and dining. The surrounding Chianti countryside also offers countless opportunities for wine tasting, scenic drives, walking routes, and traditional Tuscan trattorias.

By Car:
Motorway: From the A1 motorway, take the Incisa exit and continue along the SR69, SP56, SP16, and SP68 for approximately 18km/11mil before turning onto a small countryside road. The final approach to the estate is via a 2km/1mil country road passing through Pescina, partially paved and partially gravel/concrete, with the last 200m/220 yd being quite steep. Access is via an ungated entrance with parking available for up to four cars.

Railway stations in Figline Valdarno (14km/9mil), offering regular regional services to Florence and Arezzo, with Florence providing the most convenient high-speed connections to Rome, Milan, and the wider Italian rail network.
