Tuscany is considered the leading producer of extra-virgin olive oil in the world. Its rolling hills are punctuated with centuries-old groves that have shaped the region’s landscape and culture for generations. Staying in one of our Tuscan villas gives you the opportunity to delve deeper and meet local producers, many of whom grew up nearby. Many are working farms, so you won’t have to venture far to sample Tuscany’s oro verde (“green gold”).

From restored farmhouses to lavish countryside estates, read on to discover our collection of olive-oil producing vacation rentals and luxury villas in Tuscany.

Villa Denise

Immerse yourself in the traditions and flavours of Tuscan olive oil with a stay at Villa Denise. The perks of staying on a 40-acre working farm gives you doorstep access to Tuscany’s green gold. Organic red and white wines along with olive oil are also produced on the estate. The owners, who live on the wider estate, liaise directly with guests to arrange bespoke experiences that are completely customisable – from cooking classes to wine and olive-oil tastings. Be sure to request a limoncello tasting at the end to sample the villa’s unique homemade recipe.

Santa Gelsa

Nestled in the heart of Tuscany, Santa Gelsa is an 18th-century villa set on a private estate and working farm. Fully staffed and personally managed by its owners, the estate produces its own organic olive oil. Private tastings can be personalised at every stage, elevated with farm-to-fork cuisine and washed down with the estate’s own Montepulciano labels.

Villa San Martin

Surrounded by fields of olive groves, where Pendolino, Frantoio, Morellino, and Leccino trees thrive, Villa San Martin is ideally located for visiting Florence from the nearby town of Scandicci. Yet the true charm of this location lies in its proximity to the Chianti Fiorentini hills. Nearby towns like San Casciano and Impruneta are celebrated for producing excellent wines and some of Tuscany’s finest cold pressed extra-virgin olive oils. Meet the producers, walk through olive groves and take home a delectable souvenir of your own.

Stay at Villa San Martin in Tuscany: a luxury country villa with elegant interiors, lush gardens and peaceful panoramic views — perfect for relaxed Italian getaways.

Santa Dieci

A short drive from the heart of Siena, Santa Dieci is a beautiful one-thousand year-old tower and guesthouse surrounded by swathes of Frantoio and Leccino olive trees – some over seventy years old. In October, the olives are harvested by hand for la raccolta (“the harvest”) and taken to the nearby olive mill in Villa a Sesta to be cold-pressed. Production can vary year to year, but the result is consistently Tuscan: a vivid green extra virgin olive oil with grassy aromas and a bold, peppery finish.

The Estate of Petroio

If you’re looking for a grand, fully-staffed villa near Florence that happens to make its own olive oil, The Estate of Petroio should suffice. Comprising two beautifully restored farmhouses and an elegant 12th-century villa, Petroio extends far beyond the dining table. An olive oil tasting with resident Chef Francesco is a warm, laid-back affair. You’ll get to sip artisanal oils shoulder to shoulder with friends and family, savouring each drop as Francesco shares fond stories and tasting tips.

Gugliaie

Set within an organic wine estate – with 50 hectares of vineyards and more than 12,000 olive trees planted across 63 hectares – Gugliaie traces its roots back to the 13th century. Elevate your stay with a private tour of the villa’s gardens, centuries-old cellars and a local olive mill. Alfresco tastings are all the more enjoyable thanks to the villa’s sensational views. Sip and sample unique recipes on the terrace for unobstructed views of Vigneto di Gugliaie – one of the estate's most famous and photogenic vineyards.

Il Cortile Pratolino

Il Cortile Pratolino sits among 100 acres of undulating farmland, olive groves and immaculate gardens in the Valderno Valley. At the heart of the estate lies a 25-acre olive farm. The tasting journey can be personalised with a private tour of the farm and food pairings prepared by your in-villa chefs. Indeed, food is integral to the experience, as is the wine, with the option to stock up on 25 biological Tuscan labels.

Experience Villa Il Cortile Pratolino in Tuscany: a luxury historic villa with elegant courtyard gardens, classic interiors and panoramic Italian countryside views.

Podere Brogi

The siblings behind Podere Brogi are on a mission to educate their guests through private tours and tastings. Continuing a family tradition that began in the 1960s, their olive trees – all 400 of them – are organically cultivated by hand.

In the wider area, a new wave of producers and researchers is reviving the region’s rich olive heritage – discovering ancient varieties and refining sustainable methods to protect the “Green Gold of Valdambra”. The result is a distinctive blend that has gone on to earn numerous awards.

Private in-villa tastings on the shaded loggia are as memorable as the views, with plentiful olive groves and vineyards in sight. After a laidback but thorough tasting, the villa’s stunning infinity-edge swimming pool is a fine place to regroup and discuss tasting notes.

Sartomare

The perfect multi-generational retreat, Satomare is home to a thriving olive oil estate right on your doorstep. Organise family tastings without having to leave the premises. The owners produce their own honey, extra-virgin olive oil, aromatic pesto and pepe rosa, all available for guests to sip, sample and take home as a souvenir. Come evening, the sleek pool terrace is the best spot for a personalised tasting around the stone-fired pizza oven.
