Dearest Torre Palazzone, a blank page is always a beautiful start of a story. However a blank and empty book is the start of an adventure. Our mother and grandmother turned 65 on the 5th of September. To celebrate, Alexandra (our mother) and her husband Wilco invited us to this beautiful place in Tuscany! As the 4 children, Victor 35 living in Norway with his wife Penny 32 and their 5-year-old Izzy, 3-year-old Mia and baby 3-month old Cleo. Nadia 34 with her husband 40 and their 3-year-old Hugo, 2-year-old Pippa and baby 5 month old Lilou from the Netherlands. Lily 32 with her husband Orfeo 37 and their Luuc 3-year-old, and Lex 1-year-old from Malaysia and Cedric 30-years-old from Switzerland – we don’t get together often. So this opportunity to spend time together was a lovely gift. 8 children of 5 and under, 4 adult-children who never/rarely see each other and Tuscan wine, food, sun and music is the recipe of an amazing week. Our mum and husband also had their wedding 5th anniversary and the surprises including an opera singer really was a perfect end to the week. Even though we could only finish a conversation after the children were in bed, we all hurt our feet stepping on tiny cars and poor Antonio had to cook children dinners as well as adult dinners. It was a week to remember. We want to thank everybody for seeing to all our needs and making us feel at home. To the owner we want to say, you have a beautiful home and we loved being able to make it our home away from home, from all over the world. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts. Holland-Wand Wedding. Torre Palazzone was the most MAGICAL venue for my 50th bday + wedding. I felt like a princess. Antonio was the greatest chef…EVER. Betty, Tatiana and the girls were ever so attentive to every detail. We all felt like we were living in a dream. Kudos to Julie for organizing the best wedding.

I celebrated my 80th birthday at Torre Palazzone for a week at the end of August 2022. The whole experience was magical from beginning to end. We were 19 family members in all ranging from 9 years old to 83 years young! The Palazzone in itself is beautiful but still has a very homely feel about it. Although we were so many people we all had our own space both inside and out. We were welcomed by Betty the housekeeper who looked after us devotedly all week. Ms Walsh was always at the end of the phone for any help or advice we needed. The icing on the cake was of course the garden and pool area. The younger members of the party lived in the pool but when they got bored played table tennis, boule and billiards. Then the wonderful evenings eating dinner in the loggia ! Things could not have been better. The food prepared by the chef Angelina was superb. It was of course a birthday celebration and we had a fantastic dinner in the barn ending up with a delicious birthday cake. The whole experience was way above our expectations so I hope we shall have the opportunity to return. With many thanks to all of you who made our stay so successful. Sylvia Mabon

Torre Palazzone is a slice of Heaven on earth. The grounds are stunning and hosts are lovely. The hosts were so gracious, from helping us procure specific groceries to hosting group art classes to coordinating a yoga instructor and DJ and introducing us to a fabulous vintage clothing shop. The chefs are excellent and some of our best meals were on site. We had a really fun cooking class and made our own pizza! The walking paths are beautiful and the pool a lovely place to soak. We hope to return!

Let me start by saying I never have written a review before. However, I feel compelled to write this as we had the best vacation ever at Torre Palazzone. Torre Palazzone is located about 30 minutes west of Siena in the rolling hills of Chianti wine country. Situated on 16 hectares it is a beautiful piece of property, with multiple buildings, open fields, fig and olive trees, and gardens full of tomatoes and herbs. Just down the road was a good local winery and shops for food and wine are in the town 2.5km away. Florence, San Gimignano, and other scenic towns were all withing an hour of driving. The location is perfect, and our weather mid September was outstanding. The main castle (or villa) was gorgeous. A historic site, the original features were preserved, and then fully renovated with modern amenities. There were two buildings and a courtyard. The original building, over 800 years old, was tastefully decorated with artifacts and furniture that conveys both modern and historic design. The place was huge. It comfortably slept 22 although there were just 16 of us. The main historic building comes with modern convenience of ensuites for each bedroom! There were multiple places to eat, play, read, or hide, so you never felt crowded. Different rooms with pool (snookers), ping pong, foosball, and board games provided hours of late night entertainment for the mixed group of adults and children (20’s). There were two kitchens; the smaller one in the main building was the place to hang out, the other used to prepare meals. Each bedroom had a master suite which made it very convenient. In the courtyard we spent our late afternoons having a drink and soaking in the warm sun. And of course, there was a lovely pool where the group spent much of the day recovering from the previous nights’ festivities. A very big surprise was the host and supporting staff. The owner Kitty and partner James came by every day to see how we were doing and to provide any assistance we needed to book dinner reservations or tour the local area. She was so nice and attentive it really made us feel at home. We had two staff during the morning that served a fantastic buffet breakfast with juices, coffee, cereals, meat, cheese, bread, fruit, and freshly baked pastries. Under a vine screened patio we enjoyed our mornings as the sun rose and warmed the sky. As an option I highly recommend that you let them take care of the breakfast. In addition, the staff spent time each morning organizing and tidying the common areas so that the castle was fresh each morning which was appreciated (again noting the previously mentioned night’s festivities!). Our rental included a chef (Giorgia) and helper who created the most fantastic 4 course meals. Fresh ingredients and her culinary talent left us in stuffed and feeling so lucky that we could get such great food without leaving the property. Pasta, meat, fish, wood oven pizza, deserts - everything was so good. The nearby winery and wine tasting tours, gave us a plentiful choice of the great Tuscan wines. We had by far the best vacation ever! at Torre Palazzone. There was absolutely nothing that could have been done to make the experience better. One month later we continue to reflect and boast to others about what a great time we had.

Our stay at Torre Palazzone was truly exceptional and one of the best villa holidays we have had. The building is truly spectacular both as a living historical monument but also as a wonderful living space, having been restored, furnished and decorated to a very high standard, while still retaining a truly authentic renaissance feel. We particularly liked the outside space, the huge dining tables both east of the villa for the morning sun and west for the evening and the multitude of sitting and lounging spaces provided. This place definitely offers all of the best things one hopes for in a Tuscan summer holiday, we only wish it could last longer!
