Villa Cignano is a nice, cozy and well equipped house. It's perfect as a retreat, with great view overlooking the Tuscany hills, it has a nice pool, its quiet with a nice atmosphere.

Somewhat remote and not much to do in the tiny village but a great place for days trips to Siena, Castellina in Chianti, Radda, Panzano.

The Villa was beautiful, rustic but with good facilities. The pool was wonderful. Would be even better had the pool lights worked allowing a swim on those hot evenings. Also expected a better clean at the end of the first week rather a simple towel and linen change. Other than that I wouldn't change anything.

This is the 5th time we have used TuscanyNow and More so they must be doing something right for us. Villa Cignano is the 4th Villa we have stayed at with them and it was our favourite, so much so that we want to book again for next year. For us it was perfect.

The accommodation could not be better thanks to the beautiful furnishings, comfortable beds and very well equipped kitchen with plenty of pots, pans, crockery and cutlery. The garden was most attractive and the larger and deeper than usual pool was much appreciated but above all we could enjoy the the stunning view from the terrace that was shaded at all times. The service was perfectly satisfactory but it would have been helpful if the Caretaker was able to understand and speak better English. On one occasion there was no water supply so we called the Italian number of Tuscany N&M and were connected with an agent who arranged for the owner to contact us and with his help the fault was rectified within two hours. If we decide to visit Tuscany again we will hope that Villa Cignano will be available because we would feel no need to look elsewhere. On small suggestion - those renting cars and staying at the Villa should be advised to hire SUVs because the access to it is very rough and the direct route to the best local shopping is along a rough unpaved road.

Tuscany now and more is one of the rare cases where everything exceeded my expectation. i did type "luxury villas in tuscany" into the search bar and what i got clicking on the Tuscany Now and More link was a full service luxury experience even before getting to the villa. The one thing one quickly learns when booking online is that descriptions and pictures on websites rarely match reality. this was also the case for the villa Cignano: reality was ultimately so much better than the pictures and the description on the website. sure, not everything was perfect but who cares about minor details when being on vacation in such an amazing place. the only reason i would not recommend the villa is because i would not want anyone else to have such an amazing three weeks as we did.

Service with Tuscany N & M was first class. Experience with local representative was less organised - delay in turning up to let us in to the villa & the list of shopping I had pre-arranged wasn't provided. This may have been because the usual person was on holiday? It would have been useful if the info pack in the villa had more detailed food shopping options. Baby sitter was great and kids loved her.

Collected by us from our feedback forms we send to all our clients

We had a lovely time. We wish we could have used the pool, but the temperature never got high enough. It was nice to sit by the pool, chat, have wine, admire the beautiful view. We never did see the wild boar which was amazing! The Duomo and Piazza in Siena are beautiful at 35-40 minutes drive. We returned for the Wednesday Farmers Market. We enjoyed the drive to Castello di Brolio which is about 35 minutes away. The non-guided tour is a fine way to see the Caste and the grounds. The vistas are breathtaking. My husband really liked bistecca when we visited Florence 8 years ago. At Giannis recommendation, we went to Castellina in Chianti and he raved about the bistecca at El Gallo! They were inspired and amused when he ate all of his 1.5kg of bistecca. The 4 of us had a nice homemade dinner one night overlooking the valley. The kitchen is accommodating. We drove to Ponte a Bozzone and ate fabulous pizza at La Piccorda. It is highly recommended on various sites and did not disappoint, 15 minutes drive. It is worth... to get some wood and sit by the fireplace. We did not miss watching TV or the deluge of constant news. All in all, a fine vacation. Gianni and Rossana are gracious hosts. Thank you. Carroll and Rice family, Skaneateles, NY (USA) The week started out chilly, but was worm and sunny by the end of this holy week. We get in late Saturday night, and Gianni e Rossana were awesome about coming out to find us on the road. Would not have found it otherwise, even though I stayed here before one week in July of 1998! We cooked some late night pasta provided by our hosts, and with stuff we bought at the P.Piu in Pisa, a chain grocery like Aldi. On Sunday morning, we enjoyed Palm Sunday mess at the little church in the Vagliagli town square with blessed olive branches vs the palms we are used to. Very cool. We used the afternoon to recover from our travels, then had a lovely dinner at the Osteria Pastecei just this side of Castellina in Chianti. The higlight of our first day was being welcomed into Gianni and Rossana's home in the lower villa for a glass of Chianti, truffled sausage, pecorino cheese and bread grilled over the open fire. We were so happy to know them and for their warm hospitality. We also loved the direction gave us to come down the "dirty road" from Castellina in Chianti. :) on monday we had a lovely stroll through Siena - Piazza del Campo, the amazing green and white Cathedral, and a nice lunch of sandwiches and pizza at nearby trattoria. Then off to the Coop (pronounce cope) at Strada delle Grondaie. Fantastic easy parking lot, great provisions for the week then off to the wonderful Mr Cesare butcher shop. Macelleria Rapaccini in Ponte al Bozzone. We tasted his beautiful cured meats and salamis, all made in house. He is 4th generation of this family business and our total came to 27€ - but we had no cash. No problem - Mr Cesare said just come back tomorrow! So the pork loin rubbed with garlic and rosemary cooked over the wood fire and on the patio was the best we had ever tasted. Tuesday was our big Florence day trip. We had great luck using the "Parclick" app to reserve a parking space in a garage near the train station on the edge of town, so we were able to easily navigate to a spot where we rented a huge 9 passenger van. From noon to 10pm was 23€. Highlights from the day: - Leonardo da Vinci museum: small manageable, very interactive, great for kids and adults - lunch at the awesome, locals only Trattoria Mario - gorgeous gelato at Victoria near Ponte Vecchio - magnificent view from the Giardini Bardini - unbelievably awesome dinner hosted by Gino and his family at Fattoria Rossi Firenze. On Wednesday we went back to Siena to see the market. We didn't pay attention that the market is in Fortezza, so we parked underground at (P) il Campo which is on the total upper side of the city, so we got to walk a lot! the market is a lot of clothing and we found few food trucks- great kebabs at Da Roberto down by the Fortezza Medicea. Basilica Caterina San Domenico is really worth walking in to, and it's free. Then back to the butcher for some beautiful steaks and a turkey breast wrapped in bacon, prepared by Cesare's mother and tied up, super delish! On thursday we had a pool day. Our kids swam despite bad weathe but the pool looked so beautiful, they couldn't resist. A few people went went shopping at the "Desting Mall" next to the coop and found good deals for italian clothes. We met our friends at the agriturismo Querceto for a wonderful wine tasting. Then we had cocktails at an awesome outdoor terrasse at Enoteca Nuvolari. Best cocktail - Spritz! Then off to dinner in Castellina at il ReGallo. Very good. Last day friday so sad to be leaving. The weather was gorgeous and we enjoyed lounging pool side. We hope to be back to this magical place again some day!

Dear Gianni and Rossana, this was our second year here and it was lovely to meet you. We come her again following our first visit last year because we loved it so much and we loved it again this year. This is our 7th year in a row coming to Tuscany and our 2nd year at Cignano. This is definitely our favourite villa so far. The pool is perfect, we even had some evening with the pool lights working. The outside eating area is lovely and the view is amazing. The blood red moon during one of our evening meals was particularly memorable. The villa is also in a perfect location for visit to Siena, Florence, St Gimignano and many other places. I have now to convince my family to come again next year. I love it here and want to keep coming. Best, Martin London UK

Spent a wonderful week here what a fantastic villa sensational views. We have loved spending time in the lovely pool and garden. Enjoyed a trip to Florence, parking at "Villa Costanza" (off the Al Autoroute). Get a tram all the way into the center (2hrs queue for Santa Maria Cathedral Duomo). There was a supermarket PAM while was open on Sunday afternoon in Siena. A huge Coop also in Siena (close to PAM) open all day. Castellina in Chianti was our favourite local haunt - good restaurant esp "Trattoria la Torre" on main square. Magical ice-cream shops. Parking is easy here. For the Taverna in Vagliagli you need to reserve a table. Rossana and Gianni were so kind and helpful. Also Raffaella (who ha to come to find us when we get lost arriving very late at night). The views, the pool and the gardens were wonderful. The accommodation and facilities excellent and the location, close to Siena and Castellina in Chianti, but within easy reach of Florence and Pisa, was perfect. The countryside around Vagliagli is superb.

Our week at Villa Cignano gave us a taste of living in Tuscany. Next time we need two weeks - one for exploring the sights of Chianti and Florence, and one for relaxing and enjoying the views and ambience of the villa.

We have had a wonderful two weeks love at Villa Cignano. A perfect setting for a real gateway, whilst ideally located to visit all the wonderful villages, hill towns, wineries and, of course, the beautiful city of Siena. The house was brilliant inside and out and enabled us to quickly adapt to the somewhat unpredictable weather. Long lazy days by the pool and then relaxing inside to enjoy the spectacle of some amazing thunder-storms. The kitchen was very well supplied with everything we needed to cook lots of great suppers, enjoyed on the patio. We equally loved eating out and had a memorable Sunday lunch at the Taverna di Vaglaigli. Perhaps our highlight was strolling across the annual wine festival at Panzano and sampling for two fantastic quality Chiantis. All in all a fabulous holiday and a big thanks to Raffaella who was really welcoming and always on hand for help and advice.

What a fantastic location with spectacular views, the best in Tuscany. We loved our week here, lying by the lovely pool or visiting hilltop villages and towns. We loved the rustic farm house and had a very warm welcome from the caretaker. we are very sorry to be leaving. We enjoyed dining at La Taverna di Vagliagli and had a great lunch with wine tasting at Dievole. we were able to top up our supplies from the local store in Vagliagli. We loved our trips to Radda, Siena and San Gimignano. Off to Elba for a week now! Mike and Louise Evans (Surrey), John and Mandy Flather (Suffolk)

Villa and location are idyllic and the 2 weeks flew! It was an adventure travelling on the unmade roads to Castellina in Chianti, but one we enjoyed when returning out for an evening meal in one of the wide choice of restaurants. Even the spectacular thunderstorm was beautiful, with stunning views over the surrounding valleys. The weather closed in and filled with thick clouds making us feel isolated from the world! Perhaps the only dampener on the experience was the "attack" of the horse flies by the pool.. we did however find that using a mosquito coil and Deet helped to deter them. We loved our time in Tuscany and have no hesitation in recommending Villa Cignano to others for a holiday to remember..... Martin, Alex, Gemma and Megan - London

This is our second consecutive year staying at Cignano. We love the simple, rustic comfort - but, above all, the spectacular views. Big thanks to Raffaella, who has been fantastically welcoming again. Also lovely to meet Rossana and Gianni, the owners. Our children were captivated by Gianni's magic tricks! Castellina in Chianti is a great little town to visit. We've loved eating at La Torre, in the square by the tower. The bakery also by the tower is also excellent. Our best discovery this year was Toscana Golosa (35 Via della Sapienza) in Siena. It's a fabulous family-run deli, also serving paninis and the most sumptuous charcuterie platters you could wish for. All in all a perfect 10/10 holiday! Rachel, Jim, Camille, Albert - London
